Looking for the Best Value and Quality Charlotte Home Inspection?

Our high-quality home inspections tell you the true condition of the home.

When looking for a Charlotte Home Inspection, choose Starmark for our thoroughness, experience, easy-to-understand reports, and exceptional customer service.

In other words, we provide peace of mind.

Not all home inspectors are the same.

Not all inspectors find everything we find.

Not all inspectors explain their findings in a way that’s easy to understand.

Choosing a home inspector in Charlotte is not what you think it is…

You can’t just choose the cheapest inspector.

Let me tell you why.

It’s really important that you choose a thorough, detailed, and customer-oriented home inspection company.

Shopping for a home inspector is not the same thing as shopping for a car.

Not all home inspectors are created equal – they’re not manufactured to be exactly the same. All home inspectors have different levels of experience, different levels of service, different styles of reporting and communicating.

Some inspection reports are very difficult to comprehend because they aren’t written with you, the client, in mind.

Our reports are written in a way that’s easy for you to understand.

We spell everything out in a clear and calm way. We don’t blow anything out of proportion. Different homebuyers are looking for homes in different conditions. We don’t tell you what to buy or not to buy, we just tell you what condition the home is in, in a way that you can clearly understand. And then we answer any and all questions you have about it.

You don’t want a cheap inspector with little experience who might miss some important things. Remember, not all inspectors are the same.

Here at Starmark, we train our inspectors far more than others do.

Our inspectors do 200 inspections supervised by the owner, above and beyond what other inspection companies do. Our owner looks over every single report before you get it to make sure it’s up to our strict quality standards.

Our thorough home inspections will let you know the state of the house you are buying, so you can feel confident in your decision.

Your report will be full of information about your property spelled out in a clear, concise, professional manner, with photos, so you can make informed decisions!

We just wanted to say thank you to Starmark Home Inspections.  You did a really good job.  You made us feel really comfortable with the house.  You were really laid back and explained everything in layman’s terms which is good for us since we are new home buyers.  We weren’t exactly sure what to look for and you gave us a clear understanding.
You also discovered everything from major things to all the little stuff…not just—“Ok! Everything’s fine!”..
Very good.  We recommend Starmark Home Inspections. Casey Ogrodnick & David Hunt

Looking for the best value for your Charlotte Home Inspection?

You’re in the right place! When it comes to anything in the home buying process, you need the best service at the best price. We are not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but we offer you the best value.  We are known for our thoroughness, integrity and customer service and we offer a detailed report with digital pictures.

We don’t rush. This allows us time to do a thorough inspection of your home or condo. This also means we may charge a little more than some of our competitors.

You don’t want a cheap inspection. A cheap inspection may be the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy. It may cost you thousands of dollars down the road because of missed or overlooked defects.

Cheap home inspectors often know less and do less, which is one reason why they’re cheap. They don’t look at everything we look at. Only a representative number of switches, doors, windows etc are tested. We inspect everything we can access. We run a full dishwasher test, when some inspectors may only test a short cycle. We fill up your sinks instead of just running the water. You can imagine how these differences can add up!

The more thorough we are, the more defects we find, and the more money you can save!

Our 100% Guarantee

Whether you’re a first time home buyer, have done this a few times, or are purchasing an investment property, we know this is a big step. Our 100% guarantee is just one more way to demonstrate our desire and commitment to meet and exceed your expectations.

  • We will happily answer all of your questions at the inspection or anytime after. Yes, even months or years later.

We’re confident we will find more defects than our competition, saving you more money in the long run.

So here’s our simple guarantee:
Attend your home inspection, and if for any reason, you’re not satisfied with the quality of the home inspections service, tell the inspector before receiving your report and we’ll either make it right, or you don’t pay the home inspection fee!

Take it from our Happy Customers

Extremely Thorough

We purchased a new-build and assumed it would be in almost perfect condition; Starmark proved otherwise! They were able to provide an extremely comprehensive review that, once we work with the builder to rectify Starmark’s findings, will ultimately give us peace of mind on our home purchase. Would definitely recommend.

FAQ’s

Q: How do I choose a home inspector in the Charlotte NC metro area?
A: Call up and ask about their credentials and experience. If for some reason you don’t feel comfortable asking this of the inspector when speaking with them on the phone then how will you feel asking questions at the inspection of your home in Charlotte NC area. You must feel that the home inspector is qualified, experienced and attentive of your needs.
Q: What are your home inspectors' qualifications?
A: John Hill is trained and is NACHI Certified. He adheres to The Standards of Practice set forth by NC & SC Standards of Practice and those set forth by NACHI  and also adheres to the code of ethics and was educated and trained and worked as a CE with his Masters in CE and had his PE for 15 years in the Charlotte NC area.

John Hill started working in the construction industry in the early 70’s.  He gained an appreciation for quality construction materials and techniques.  This early experience led John to attend college,  graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelors and masters degree in Civil Engineering.  After college, John moved to Charlotte in 1978 and worked for the City of Charlotte.  His duties included project management and overseeing construction of all type of municipal buildings, including fire stations, bus terminals, recreation centers, museums, and operation centers.  After leaving the City, John pursued direct involvement as a subcontractor and later became a Principal in a large award winning architectural / engineering firm.   His responsibilities included overseeing large construction projects.  John became licensed as a Professional Engineer and General Contractor.       After a successful career, John decided to go into business for himself, doing home repairs and home remodeling projects.

In 1999, John was licensed as a home inspector and is a full time dedicated home inspector.   John is a member of NACHI and NCLHIA.  John’s education is always being improved.  His yearly education far exceeds what is required by the state of North Carolina.  John is noted for integrity.

John is also licensed by North Carolina Home Inspectors Licensing Board  #1232 and South Carolina Home Inspectors Licensing Board # 2268.

Q: Can a house fail the inspection?
A: No. A professional home inspector in Charlotte NC does not issue a pass or fail grade on a home. A professional home inspection is an examination of the current condition of the prospective home. The home inspector in Charlotte NC will describe the physical condition of the home and indicate what may need repair or replacement.
Q: What kind of report can I expect?
A: The Home Inspection Report will give easy to read details on:

  • The general condition of the home from the roof to the basement.
  • How things work.
  • Major and minor deficiencies.
  • Suggestions to remedy deficiencies.
  • Any major expenditure coming up.
  • What to watch out for.

See a sample report here.

Q: When and how do I schedule a home inspection?
A: You generally have between seven and ten days after you sign the contract to get a home inspection. We would advise you to call us as soon as you sign a contract on the prospective home. This will ensure that you can get the inspection done at a time that’s most convenient for you.

When you’re ready to schedule your inspection just, give us a call or book online. We have two full-time schedulers on staff to assist you. We answer the phones until 9 pm every day of the week. If you don’t catch us, just leave a message and we will get right back to you.

You can also use our easy online scheduler by clicking here. It will let you see our open availability and choose the time that is best for you.

Q: How much does a home inspection cost?
A: The price of the home inspection varies based on the size of the home. Larger homes take longer to inspect, hence the fees for these homes are greater than those for a smaller home. However, don’t let the price of the inspection determine whether or not you get a home inspection or the selection of your home inspector in Charlotte NC area. The knowledge gained from an inspection is well worth the cost, and the lowest priced inspector is not necessarily a bargain. The inspector’s qualifications, including his experience, training, and professional affiliations should be the most important consideration.
Q: How do I pay for my home inspection?
A: At the conclusion of the inspection payment is due. We accept personal checks (made out to Starmark Home Inspections), cash and all major credit cards. If you are unable to attend the inspection, we ask that you provide us with your credit card information when scheduling your appointment. Your card will not be charged until the inspection is complete and we keep all data in a secure online system.

You can also pay online here.
